My Story
Hi y'all,
My name is Brandi Kempton and I am just a Texas girl living the dream in a Southern California world! I specialize in newborn photography and have designed my own studio in my house. I am a full-time wife and mommy to four beautiful children. I do photography part-time and have an amazing husband who helps watch the kids on weekends so I can do what I love. I try to keep current and take my own kid's pictures every year, but when I pull out the "canon" they run and cover their faces!
I love to document the first sweet moments of life. Whether starting in the delivery room or meeting your bundle of bliss a week later, I enjoy making these special moments last forever. Since having my children, I understand how important it is for me to capture as many moments as I can of them growing up, because it sure does go fast! I would love to do the same for your family
How I got started….
In 2013, my friend that had the same passions as myself talked me into my BIG camera purchase. She was such a blessing in my life and taught me how to use my camera in manual mode. From that point on, there was no holding me back! I started with mini holiday and family sessions and quickly came to realize that was not my calling. Then I had a few newborn sessions...Oh good gravy....that was my melting point. So I wrapped up my family sessions and started only accepting newborn babies.
In 2017, I started offering birth photography. I love how these photos tell a story from walking into the hospital labor and delivery center, to welcoming the family and siblings coming in the meet the newest addition for the first time, and of course all that happens in between. These stories through photos give my clients the perfect memories to cherish forever.
I have taken many workshops specializing in newborn photography and how to pose them safely. These tiny humans are so moldable, but there is a certain way to perfect these poses at no risk to the baby.
I try to schedule my newborn sessions in my studio before the baby's are 14 days old. I schedule one newborn per week in the studio also known as "My Happy Place". It is truly a rewarding experience and I can not count the times that clients have referred to me as “The Baby Whisperer”. That really makes what I do special and motivating.
